Progress in Statistical Decision Theory 2022
Statistical Decision Theory has a proud tradition of producing novel tools such as James‑Stein shrinkage and clarifying important atheoretical tools like singular value decomposition. It interacts with Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as well as
mathematical fields including Random Matrix Theory and
classical special functions.
We are holding a conference May 20-21 at Stanford, where both established and emergent contributors will present their work.
Iain Johnstone will be having a numerically significant birthday this academic year – our
conference will include a banquet and entertainment to mark this occasion. We hope that for many of us this will be a nice ‘re-opening’ to the world
after years of restricted travel and activity.
